Alone

You are never alone,

for I surround you at all times.  

My presence is the very air you breathe,

if only you were aware of me.

Every tear that slips down your cheek and stains your pillowcase, I see every single one.   

You do not cry alone.

When your body and heart ache and you are full of heaviness and heartache,

I ache with you.

Those whispered prayers long after you've turned out the lights,

I hear them.

When you haven't the strength, the energy or the desire to face another day,

I am lifting you up.

When you feel as though I have abandoned you in the deepest dark of night,

I am your dawning day.

You are never alone.
